Violet Limodore (Limodorum abortiuvm) flowers. This plant is widespread in open woodlands throughout the Mediterranean region. Although the flowers are visited by some small bees they are largely self-pollinated and after a dry Spring, flowers often do not open. It contains little chlorophyll and is thought to be parasitic.
