Caption

Nanoflight scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of three animal parasites: an Ixodes tick, a dog roundworm, and a cat flea. The tick is seen first, with the cat flea next and the thin roundworm in the background. Lyme disease is one of the bacterial diseases spread by Ixodes ticks, typically found on animals such as sheep or deer. Dog roundworms such as Toxocara canis can cause blindness in humans. Cat fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) are found on the skin of cats where, like other fleas, they feed on their host's blood.
