Crystals of lithium chloride, differential interference contrast (DIC) light micrograph. Lithium chloride is mainly used for the production of lithium metal by electrolysis of a lithium chloride and potassium chloride. It is used as a brazing flux for aluminium, and as a desiccant. Magnification: x70 when printed 10cm wide.
