Periodontal pocket, a dental pathology. The periodontal pocket is a space that is created between the tooth and the gum during periodontal disease. It is caused by the destruction of the anchoring system of the tooth (the periodontium, supporting tissue of the tooth, including the bone) with the migration of the attachment of the gum along the tooth towards the end of the tooth. In this pocket will accumulate aggressive bacteria for the periodontium and entrenched by a simple brushing.
