First Nigerian paediatric living kidney transplant. Surgeon holding a kidney from a 24-year-old living donor. This is during an operation on a thirteen-year-old boy who is the first ever paediatric patient to receive a living Kidney transplant in Nigeria. This kidney is from his older brother. The surgery was overseen by an experienced UK surgeon and nephrologist who travelled to the country to give help and advice. Photographed in Lagos, Nigeria, in 2009.
