Close-up of an infected (pus-filled) squamous cell carcinoma (skin cancer) on the scalp of an 96 year old female patient. This second most common type of skin cancer affects the upper squamous cells of the skin but tumours may spread (metastasize). It is commonly caused by sun damage.
