Caption

Fluorescence light micrograph of rat astrocyte cells. Astrocytes are a type of glial cell. The cell nuclei, which contain each cell's genetic information in the form of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), are blue. They provide structural support and protection for neurons (nerve cells) and also supply them with nutrients and oxygen.
