A young Himba woman carrying water in a container balanced on her head. The Himba are a pastoral and nomadic people of northern Namibia who are closely related to the Herero people. The Himba speak OtjiHimba a variation of the Herero language. They tend herds of goats and cattle in the arid semi-desert environment, living in extended families in homesteads. Most live without access to electricity and water is often scarce. Female members of the group are tasked with collecting water daily. Filmed near Opuwo, Kunene region, Northern Namibia.
