Two Himba women followed by young Himba girls being playful. The Himba women are wearing their traditional clothing and their partially clothed bodies are covered with ochre. The young Himba girls have a different hairstyle as hairstyles indicate age and social status within the group. The Himba are a pastoral and nomadic people of northern Namibia who are closely related to the Herero people. The Himba speak OtjiHimba a variation of the Herero language. They tend herds of goats and cattle in the arid semi-desert environment, living in extended families in homesteads. Filmed near Opuwo, Kunene region, Northern Namibia.
