Light microscopy of the head of a juvenile roach fish (Rutilus rutilus). The roach is a common freshwater and brackish water fish found across Europe and western Asia. Its fry are tiny and transparent, which allows internal structures to be seen. The eyes are prominent on the head at the start of the clip. This specimen was collected in the Grand Canal, County Kildare, Republic of Ireland.
