Animation showing the movement of a grey seal (pink line) around the north coast of Scotland, UK. The grey seal (Halichoerus grypus) lives around the northern coasts of the North Atlantic Ocean. It spends much of the year at sea, feeding on fish, crustaceans and cephalopods. In autumn it comes ashore on rocky coasts to form breeding colonies.
