A Burchell's, also known as a Plains, Zebra (Equus burchelli) foal suckling. Zebras are usually fully weaned between 8 and 11 months of age, but the mother continues to lactate for up to 16 months after giving birth. These wild horses are found on the grassy plains of eastern and southern Africa. They live in herds of several hundred individuals, and are always to be found close to a water source. Filmed in Etosha National Park, Namibia.
