18th century illustration of a sentinel rock thrush (Monticola explorator), a species of bird in the family Muscicapidae. It is found in Lesotho, South Africa, and Swaziland. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland. From Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux d'Afrique (Natural History of Birds of Africa), Volume 3, by Franeois Le Vaillant (1753-1824), published in Paris, France in 1799-1802.
