Close-up of the eye of a long-spined sea scorpion (Taurulus bubalis). This bottom-dwelling fish inhabits coastal waters around northern and western Europe. It is an ambush predator, using its camouflage to avoid detection before pouncing on small fish, crustaceans and molluscs. This specimen is in Wales, UK.
