Caption

The Harpacticoid Copepod (Tigriopus brevicornis) showing precopulatory mate guarding. The male Copepod is clasping the female Copepod with its modified first antennae. These Copepods inhabit supralittoral tide pools which form an extreme environment due to severe fluctuations in salinity, temperature, and oxygen concentration. Darkfield, LM X60.
