Water Python (Liasis mackloti). This python grows to 2.5 meters. It occurs widely across tropical northern Australia and also New Guinea. It is a semi-aquatic species and is usually found in the vicinity of streams and swamps. It feeds mainly on mammals, though water birds and small crocodiles are also occasional prey items.
