Dusky Pigmy Rattlesnake (Sistrurus miliarius barbouri) aka buzzworm, ground rattlesnake, florida ground rattlesnake, southeastern ground rattlesnake, pygmy rattlesnake, Barbouri's pygmy rattlesnake, hog-nosed rattler, pygmy ground rattlesnake. One of the most abundant venomous snakes in Florida. The female retains her eggs internally and gives birth to live young. Their bite is extremely painful, and requires proper medical care, but is not fatal. Range: Southeastern United States from North Carolina to Florida, west to Texas, north to Kentucky. Jacksonville Zoo, Duval County, Florida.
