Congo hospital. Family visiting a young girl with sleeping sickness (African trypanosomiasis). The disease is caused by a parasitic protozoan that is transmitted to humans via the tsetse fly. Symptoms include fever, joint pain and confusion. Without treatment the disease leads to coma and death.
