Caption

Allied cowrie on a sea fan. Allied cowries (Ovula ovum) are sea snails that cover their shell with a mantle, which is coloured and textured to match the host organism. In this way it looks similar to a sea slug (nudibranch). This may help it avoid predation, as nudibranchs are usually highly toxic. Photographed off Ambon, Indonesia.
