Ovarian tumour. Light micrograph of a section through a benign (non-cancerous) cystic teratoma in an ovary. Teratomas are encapsulated tumours that contain tissue or organ components, such as hair or teeth. Here degenerating keratin (light area, to right) can be seen. This is produced by the lining epithelium of the cyst and often contains hair.
