Drechslera fungus. Coloured Scanning Electron Micrograph (SEM) of a cluster of fruiting bodies of the fungus Drechslera sp. These oval-shaped structures known as conidia contain spores. They are seen among the vegetative network of filaments (hyphae) of the fungus. Drechslera sp. is a fungus found on the seeds of cereals and grasses. Species of Drechslera are pathogenic causing such plant diseases as seedling blight, net blotch and leaf-stripe in barley. Magnification: x1000 at 6x7cm size.
