Zhivopisny Bridge. View of part of the Zhivopisny Bridge in Moscow at night. This unusual S-shaped bridge includes a central cable-stayed section that is the highest in Europe. It runs at a very oblique angle to the banks of the Moskva River, so that for part of its 1.5km length it appears to run along the centre of the river. The arch bearing the cable stays actually spans the river. With a height of 105 metres, it has a disk-like structure at its peak - this was intended to be a restaurant and observation platform but has never been opened. The bridge was opened to traffic on 27 December 2007.
