Race car testing. Engineering students testing a race car in a wind tunnel. This is one of the R. J. Mitchell wind tunnels at the University of Southampton, UK. These wind tunnels are used by Formula One teams, and have also been used to design Olympic bobsleighs, Olympic cycles, and America's Cup yachts. The wind tunnels are also used by engineering students who design race cars using computational fluid dynamics, developing models such as this one for testing in the wind tunnels. Photographed in 2010.
