Raw T-bone steak. The T-bone, or Porterhouse, steak is a cut of beef that consists of a t-shaped bone with meat on each side. Steak, a red meat, is a good dietary source of protein and iron, but also contains high levels of saturated fat (white). This fat is a risk factor for heart disease. Red meat is also thought to contribute to conditions such as high blood pressure and arthritis, and is a risk factor for cancer.
