Caption

Nasal polyp, coronal CT (computed tomography) scan. The nasal cavity is at centre, with the eyes either sides. Facial bones are white. The polyp is on the right-hand side of the nose, and is the large mass (grey) that has blocked most of that side of the nose. The other side of the nose has more spaces (black), showing the normal internal structure of the nose and the ethmoid sinuses. A polyp is a form of benign growth. This polyp was surgically removed due to its size.
