Jerusalem Cricket (Stenopelmatus fuscus). This insect is terrestrial and nocturnal, spending the daylight hours in a burrow. It is both vegetarian and carnivorous, feeding on plants and other insects. Abundant in arid regions from British Columbia to Mexico and east to SD and TX.
