Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone. Historical image of the automobile pioneers Henry Ford (left, 1863-1947) and Harvey Samuel Firestone (1868-1938). Ford founded the Ford Motor Company and pioneered the development of the assembly technique for mass production. His introduction of the Model T automobile in 1908 revolutionised transportation and American industry. Firestone founded the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in 1900, one of the first global makers of automobile tires. Published in 1921.
