Harry Atwood (1884-1967). Historical image of the American aviation pioneer Harry Nelson Atwood in his Wright Model B aeroplane. The Wright Model B was an early biplane designed by Orville and Wilbur Wright in 1910 and was the first of their designs to be built in quantity. In 1910 Atwood made a record-breaking 461-mile flight from Boston to Washington DC, USA, in this plane and landed on the White House lawn. Photographed circa 1910-1915.
