Cooke refractor. This telescope was housed at the Fernhill Observatory, on the Isle of Wight, England. It was made by the company found by the British instrument maker Thomas Cooke (1807-1868). Artwork from 'Handbook of Descriptive and Practical Astronomy' (George Frederick Chambers, 1890 fourth edition).
