Caption

Automatic weather station (AWS) at a meteorological facility. An AWS is an automated version of a weather station that enables data to be collected without human intervention, or from remote locations. This one is known as a MOWOS (Met Office Weather Observing System), an early name for UK-based AWS systems. The data gathered is used by the Met Office, the UK's national weather monitoring and forecasting service. Photographed at the Met Office facilities in Beaufort Park, Bracknell, UK.
