Japanese islands (bottom right) and parts of mainland China (centre left and top left to top centre) are also seen. The Yellow Sea (left) and the Sea of Japan (right) lie either side of the peninsula. The city of Seoul (grey, centre) is the capital of South Korea. North Korea's capital city, Pyongyang, lies in the fertile lowlands (blue) on North Korea's western coast.
