Sea ice. View of sea ice produced from the Portage Glacier. Glaciers are large bodies of ice that flow down valleys from higher ground. The ice is formed from compressed snow. When the front of the glacier reaches the sea it breaks apart to produce these chunks of floating ice, or icebergs. Photographed in Alaska, USA.
