Frozen iceberg, Lancaster Sound, Nunavut, Canada. Icebergs, which are composed entirely of freshwater, become frozen in the sea during winter, but are freed when the sea ice melts during spring. In recent years, the effects of global warming have caused sea ice to melt earlier in the season and glaciers to recede.
