Iceberg formation. Ice floating on the sea after calving (breaking away) from a glacier. This process is one way in which icebergs are born. When a glacier arrives at the coast it becomes less stable. Cracks develop and the glacier weakens. Huge chunks of ice often fall into the sea, as seen here. This is the Perito-Moreno Glacier, Patagonia, Argentina.
