Preventing coastal erosion. Waves beat against a concrete sea wall and wooden groyne. These structures protect the coastline from erosion by the sea. The sea wall, made of hollow concrete hexagonals, consolidates the ground and prevents encroachment of the sea. The groyne holds sand in place, preventing lateral drift.
