Earthquake damage. Furrows in a ploughed field were offset by about 28 centimetres by the magnitude 6.5 earthquake that struck Imperial Valley, California, USA, on 15th October 1979. This major earthquake injured 91 people and caused an estimated 30 million dollars in property damage.
