Pu'u O'o vent. Aerial view of the Pu'u O'o vent on the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii, USA. Kilauea is one of the world's most active volcanoes. The tracks of countless lava flows can be seen leading away from the steaming vent here. The Hawaiian islands are entirely made of volcanic rock, and continuously erupting volcanoes such as Kilauea mean that the islands are still increasing in size.
