Lava entering the Pacific Ocean on the coast of the Island of Hawaii. This island is built of five volcanoes: Kohala, Mauna Kea, Hualalai, Mauna Loa and Kilauea. Kilauea is one of the most active and best studied volcanoes in the world. Mauna Kea's latest eruptions were about 4000 years ago, and Kohala's about 60,000 years ago.
