Classic example of entablature & colonnade formations of a basalt lava flow, near the Aldeyjarfoss waterfall, Iceland. The entablature is the folded structure immediately above the hexagonal basalt columns that form the colonnade. A fine-grained basic igneous rock, basalt is the most common type of lava.
