Eroded rock strata, aerial photograph. The mountain was originally formed by tectonic forces crumpling the layered rock upwards. Erosion has exposed the layers within the rock. These are now seen as ridges surrounding an eroded dome structure. This dome is the remnant core of the mountain. Photographed in the Northern Flinders Range, South Australia.
