Cretaceous sandstone pillar. Sandstone is a sedimentary rock, formed by the deposition of small rock particles, usually from water. This rock was formed by deposition during the Cretaceous period, which lasted from around 146 to 65 million years ago. Photographed at Olhos de Agua, Portugal.
