Hand sample of Diorite, an intrusive igneous rock consisting of sodic plagioclase feldspar and hornblende, biotite or pyroxene. Small amounts of quartz may be present. Diorite has phaneritic texture; mineral grains are of nearly equal size and are visible to the naked eye.
