Basalt rock and feldspar crystals. Basalt (black) is a volcanic rock formed from cooling lava. The cooling has left cavities in the rock, and also crystals (white-orange) of feldspar. Feldspar is a general term for the aluminium silicates that make up around 60% of the Earth's crust.
