Calcite globules. Calcite is the most stable form of calcium carbonate (CaCO3), a mineral that occurs in many forms. These globular crystals formed by radial, crystalline growth in a void inside lava. Calcite globules are a rarity. Magnification: x2.5 at 4x5" size.
