Galena (lead sulphide, PbS). This mineral usually occurs as compacted masses of cubic grey crystals, such as these, although some possess a rarer octahedral form. It is a common mineral found in various types of rocks, it is the most important lead ore and often contain deposits of silver. This specimen is from Madan, Bulgaria.
