Nikolai Leskov diamond. Diamonds are a hard crystalline form of carbon. They are used in jewellery and in industry as a material for cutting tools. This is the "Nikolai Leskov" diamond, named after the 19th-century Russian short story writer and journalist. It is on display at the Russian State Depository for Precious Metals, in Moscow, Russia.
