Silver deposits in quartzite. Polished slab of silver (grey) deposited in a dentritic pattern in a matrix of the mineral quartzite (white). The term dentritic refers to the branching shape of the deposit. Silver is a precious metal used in jewellery and also in industry. This slab is about 9 centimetres across.
