Fossilised tree forming part of the fossil forest at Lulworth Cove, Dorset, UK. The doughnut-shaped ring is the fossilised remains of a collar of algae which once surrounded the base of each tree. The fossils date from the Upper Jurassic period, 162-135 million years ago.
