Fossilized brood cell assemblage in an exposed paleosol. These brood cells were created by solitary bees related to modern Anthophora sp. which burrow into soil to create a chamber to house their larvae. Photographed in Fuerteventura, Canary Isles. For a photograph of individual cells, see E442/603.
