Prehistoric Hohokam rock art, South Mountain Park, Phoenix, Arizona, USA. Hohokam, literally translated as 'those who have vanished', was a name given to one of the major prehistoric archaeological traditions of the American Southwest. Their culture existed between around 200 and 1400 AD. A torch has been used to illuminate a painting of a cross. This is thought to represent Venus. Above the horizon, below and to the left of the Moon, is the planet Venus.
